SQA Results 2020

Pupils presented for SQA examinations in 2020 will receive their results from SQA on Tuesday 4 August. Pupils who have signed up for the MySQA service  will receive results via text and/or email from 8am onwards. Those who haven’t signed up shouldn’t worry – they will still receive their results by post on 4 August as usual.

SQA  send certificates to the address registered with them. If you do not receive your results with the normal post that day, then please contact the school. Likewise, please contact us if any result appears to be missing.

Course Choice Changes
Any pupil who wishes to request course choice changes following the publication of the results should make an appointment to meet with their Head of House. These meetings will take place in the school hall and will commence from Monday 10th August. Social distancing must be observed so please do not turn up on spec without an appointment. This process has to take place in tandem with the reopening of the school. We shall advise you of details later this week.

Post Certification Reviews (Appeals)
All results will be reviewed by the school to determine potential eligibility for review. The school will speak to all eligible candidates to seek their views and consent on whether or not to proceed. This process will commence when Heads of Department return from holiday on Monday 10th August. Details of the SQA procedures can be read here.

A candidate is eligible for review only when they have been awarded a lower grade than the grade estimated by their centre. The SQA system will not allow the school to submit a request for anyone who does not meet this criterion.

It is the school’s intention to be as transparent as possible in identifying candidates whose results may be eligible for review. To this end we intend to provide candidates with a note of the following information for each National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher

  • Centre 1-9 band estimate
  • Centre 1-19 refined band estimate
  • Centre ranking (within Band)
  • SQA moderated 1-19 band estimate
  • SQA moderated 1-9 band result

We would ask that you reserve any questions about eligibility for review until you have received this information. Once this information is available we will provide a link for you to register any interest in a PCR.

Please note that schools have been advised that they cannot release data to parents as this would constitute a breach of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Tuesday 4th August
All pupils entering S5 and S6 have had the following data e-mailed to them today along with information on course choice change requests

  • Centre 1-9 band estimate
  • Centre 1-19 refined band estimate
  • Centre ranking (within Refined Band)
  • SQA moderated 1-19 band estimate
  • SQA moderated 1-9 band result

The same data will be posted out tomorrow to pupils who have left school – predominantly S6 in session 2019-20.
