Launch of Scottish Opera’s Confucius Classroom Hub:
Performance of The Dragon of the Western Sea
Scottish Opera is the first opera company to be awarded the status of Confucius Classroom Hub by the Han Ban Council in Beijing, as a result of the Company’s extensive education work in China.
To mark the launch of the Classroom Hub, a performance of their latest primary school touring production, The Dragon of the Western Sea, will take place at Jordanhill School on Chinese New Year, Friday 16 February.
The Dragon of the Western Sea tells the story of the great 14th century Chinese explorer, Admiral Zheng He. It will be performed by children from Primary 5 to 7, who have been learning their parts in class over a number of weeks, alongside Scottish Opera artists.
Jordanhill School congratulates Scottish Opera on its award and looks forward to hosting the production.
Parents of relevant pupils will receive an invitation to attend. Please note that entry is by ticket only.
