Pupils of Exellence

The family of William Farish have established a special fund to offer financial support to individual pupils of excellence taking part in competitions and/or courses. All three of William’s sons – Owen, Neil and Bill – are former pupils of Jordanhill School.

The normal maximum grant available is £100. Recipients must be pupils of Jordanhill School and must meet the criterion of individual excellence.

Examples of Excellence

  • National Youth Orchestra of Scotland
  • Representing Scotland at U-16 level or above
  • Euroscola participants

Applications
Applications should be made in writing to the Rector whose decision on the allocation of any grant shall be final. Please contact the administrator

The William Farish Fund is administered by the Educational Amenities Trust Fund.

Notes of Guidance
Pupils selected to take part in high level sporting, artistic or cultural events are often asked to make a financial contribution to the costs thereof by the responsible organisation. For example, you may have to pay for travel, subsistence or team outfits or be asked to pay a fee and seek matching funding from the School. The William Farish Fund can support all such requests.

Pupils will receive a maximum of one grant in any academic year.

It will usually suffice to submit a copy of the letter of invitation from the organising body with an indication of the level of support being sought.
