S4 Options Process Instructions

The Options Process

Pupils select their courses for S5 through an online survey in the Jordanhill O365 portal (instructions and link below).

Jordanhill School has a ‘free choice’ approach to Course Choice, in other words, we construct the column structure based on the requests that each year group make. This does not mean that we can guarantee that everyone will get all heir first choice subjects but we will do our very best to ensure that as many requests are met.

All requests have to be made by the 20 January.  The survey will close and you will meet with your Head of House in February to discuss your options.  If you have changed your mind about a subject then you will be able to speak to your Head of House about this in February.

 

Completing the Online Course Choice Survey

On the O365 Pupil Documents Site page click on the S4 Course Choice Survey January 2023 link and then click on Respond to this survey.

    1. Enter your Surname 
    2. Enter your First Name
    3. Enter your Scottish Candidate Number 
    4. Select your House.
    5. Select what your plans for next year are
    6. Choose your preferred English Course for next year. You also have to choose which course was recommended. If you do not wish to continue with English then you have to make an option here. Your first reserve subject must be the subject you wish to take instead of English.
    7. Choose your preferred Maths Course for next year. You also have to choose which course was recommended. If you do not wish to continue with Maths then you have to make an option here. Your first reserve subject must be the subject you wish to take instead of Maths.
    8. Select your three remaining subjects. You are also asked about the recommended pathway for you in each subject.
    9. Choose two subjects as reserve options in case we cannot offer you the first ones on your list.
    10. Next you should select you General Interest course and your reserve choice
    11. The next four questions refer to options that are available out with Jordanhill School. Please refer to the page on the website that give you information regarding Senior School College Options
    12. The last box is for you to highlight anything about your course choices that you would like to discuss with your HoH. This may be a subject that is not offered at Jordanhill or it may be that you do not wish to continue with English or Maths in S5.
    13. Click finish
    14. If you wish to edit your options before 20 January then you should log on the O365 Pupil Documents Site page click on the S4 Course Choice Survey January 2023 link and then click on Show all responses and then click on the #number. You should then be given the option to edit your response.
